OPEN

A relaxed, hands-on cultural film activity in English, based in Alicante.

No film background required. Just curiosity and commitment.

A place for people who come with life experience

Open Set is for people who’ve always been curious about filmmaking — and want a space to explore it at their own pace.

Many participants join not to change careers, but to explore creativity, culture, and collaboration in a meaningful way.

Film experience is welcome. Life experience is essential.

What Open Set is

  1. A shared creative practice around filmmaking
  2. A place to write, prepare, shoot, act, and edit together
  3. An ongoing activity, not a one-off workshop
  4. Guided by professionals, without a classroom structure
  5. Open to beginners, curious minds, and experienced creatives

What Open Set isn’t

  1. Not a formal course
  2. Not focused on certificates or exams
  3. Not competitive or industry-driven
  4. Not about fast results or pressure
  5. Not limited to actors or filmmakers only

How Open Set works

Open Set runs as an ongoing creative practice. Each cycle focuses on making something together — from the first idea to the finished piece.

Stories and scenes are developed together, drawing from personal ideas, conversations, and shared interests.

We plan locations, roles, schedules, and practical details — just as a real film set would.

Participants take part on set — acting, filming, assisting, observing — according to interest and comfort.

Footage is shaped into finished scenes or short films, and we take time to watch, discuss, and reflect together.

There are no fixed roles. You can participate actively or observe, step forward or step back, as feels right.

Practical details

Open Set is designed to be clear, flexible, and sustainable — both creatively and practically.

  1. Open to actors, aspiring filmmakers, and curious creatives
  2. No prior film education required
  3. Participation can change from project to project

Fees & support

  1. A monthly participation fee keeps the group active and ongoing
  2. Project production costs are not included
  3. BMOVIE provides professional guidance, equipment access, and space
  4. We support the process — we don’t teach in a classroom format
  5. BMOVIE team members are part of the creative work
